web standards - world wide web consortium (w3c)

The World Wide Web Consortium is an independent international organisation responsible for the development of specifications and guidelines, with the aim of maximising the potential of the Web.

When designing a new website you should ensure that the website code is W3C compliant. As an example, the W3C only recommends the use of tables for the layout of data and not for design purposes. At JDP Web Design we use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for all design layout - indeed, this site does not use tables at all. It is not that we merely wish to comply with W3C guidelines, but also because the unnecessary use of tables hinders a text reader's ability to read code correctly, compromising accessibility.

Our websites will always use W3C compliant markup, ensuring excellent accessibilty and the maximising of a client's investment.
